(Hi, I'm Cling, a full-time missionary in the Philippines! If you're new here, welcome to my blog where I post my updates. Please check out my previous updates, and explore the page! Thank you and God bless you!)
Hello dear friends and family,
Thank you for walking this journey with me through your prayers and support! I just want to say thank you for your prayers, your support, and for walking with me through this season. It truly means a lot to me.
Our Discipleship Training School (DTS) season has come to an end, and as I look back, I'm grateful not only for what God did in the students, but also what He did in my own heart.
FORERUNNER DTS GRADUATION DAY
This DTS season deeply shaped my faith and leadership. At times, it felt overwhelming. There were moments I felt stretched beyond what I thought I could handle. But God was steady and faithful through it all. I was constantly reminded of this truth in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your path straight." He guided me day by day and reminded me that I wasn't carrying things alone. He met me daily with wisdom, grace, and strength beyond my own. I'm also thankful for my team for their support, encouragement, and willingness to walk together made a big difference.
One of the biggest things God taught me was how to be intentionally present, not just available, but actively involved in the lives of the students. This meant walking closely with them in discipleship, build connection, having honest conversation, listening well, praying together, grow in the Word, and choosing to show up consistently in both the easy and difficult moments. I've learned that real transformation often happens through shared life and faithful presence. Leadership this season looked less like having all the answers and more like serving, loving well, and trusting God to do the deeper work in hearts, including my own. It's frustrating at times, but I learned to let go and let God.
The outreach phase of the DTS was especially stretching and meaningful. Being on the ground with the students, navigating new environments, uncertainties, and real-time challenges required flexibility, humility, patience, self-control, strength, and most of all dependence on the Holy Spirit. Even when things felt overwhelming, God's guidance remained constant, and our team leaned on one another with grace. There were misunderstandings, but we learned to confront and deal them with grace and love.
During outreach, we went out with the students into different locations, communities, and saw God move in powerful and bold ways. It was challenging and unfamiliar at times, but also really beautiful and fun. We preached the Gospel, prayed for people, and partnered with churches and served where we could. We also stepped out in house-to-house evangelism, friendship evangelism, open air evangelism and mini crusades, and built real connections. God gave us courage to share our faith, trust Him, and say yes even when felt uncomfortable.
We saw God move through simple obedience. And, this DTS reminded me that discipleship isn't just taught, it's lived out together. This season stretched me, but it also rooted me more deeply in His Word, humility, surrender, and confidence in God's faithfulness.
One of the most rewarding parts of this season is seeing students step up, share their faith, grow in confidence, and transformed by Him. Watching them embrace their calling and walk by faith fueled my passion even more to empower the youth and invest in the next generation of leaders and trumpet the Forerunner message.
WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?
From January 12 - 18, we're having Worship Burn here in our Mission Base, a week set apart for worship and prayer, 16 hours a day. During this time, we'll be lifting up Cebu,
believing for revival and transformation in our city. I'll be serving in the prayer room for the Evening Watch, 6:00 PM - 12:00 midnight.
Until the next DTS begins, I'll be back serving in the prayer room, which I miss so much! My DTS team will also be focusing on preparing and strategizing for the next DTS in September. I'll still continue on managing the Media/Social Media of CHOP (Cebu House of Prayer).
WHAT'S NEXT?
In the coming weeks and months, we'll begin preparing for the next DTS. This will be a time of planning and strategizing as a team before our next DTS school leader heads to the USA. We're prayerfully laying foundations for the next season. And we're praying, we'll be able to mobilize more churches and visit other prayer rooms in the Philippines for the coming months.
>>> Next month, I'll be taking a week of rest after a full season. It is a much-needed time to slow down, reset, and be refreshed before stepping into what's ahead.
Prayer Request:
Pray for provision. I'm still raising support for my monthly staff fees, food, allowances and other ministry-related expenses, so I can continue serving full-time.
Pray for the students from the recent DTS, that their faith and growth continue to bear fruit.
Personal rest, clarity, renewed passion during my upcoming time off.
Pray for my health, protection for my family
For strength, wisdom, and guidance
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
Your prayers, support, and encouragement don't just help me; they made an eternal impact. I'm so grateful for you and excited to see what God does next, together.
With much love and gratitude,
Cling Roba xx
